Call to schedule an appointment if you notice any of the following changes in your pet:
1.Sustained increase in water consumption.
2.Sustained increase in urination.
3.Weight loss.
4.Significant decrease in appetite or failure to eat more than two consecutive days.
5.Significant increase in appetite.
6.Repeated vomiting. 1.
Diarrhea that lasts over 3 days.
2.Difficulty in passing stool or urine.
3.Sudden loss of housetraining.
4.Lameness that lasts more than 3 days, or lameness in more than one leg.
5.Noticeable decrease in vision.
6.Masses, ulcerations, or multiple scabs on the skin that persist more than 1 week.
1.Foul mouth odor or drooling that lasts over 2 days.
2.Increase size of the abdomen.
3.Increasing inactivity or amount of time spent sleeping.
4.Hair loss, especially if accompanied by scratching or if in specific areas.
1.Persistent coughing or gagging.
2.Excessive panting.
3.Sudden collapse or bout of weakness.
4.Inability to chew dry food.
5.A seizure (convulsion).
Recommendations for your senior pet:
1.Keep Vaccinations current.
2.Keep plenty of water available and monitor consumption.
3.Keep indoors most of the time, especially in inclement weather.
4.Keep other pets from preventing your senior pet access to food and water.
